Usage Note 12523: "The SAS Installation Data file selected is invalid for SAS 9.1" error
message appears when using the Renew SAS Software utility
The following error message might be seen when updating the SAS
installation data file (SID file) on Windows 9.1:
The SAS Installation Data file selected is invalid for SAS 9.1.
The message appears because the SID file that you are using is for
SAS 9.0 and not SAS 9.1.
To resolve the problem, obtain a new SID file by doing one of
the following:
- Contact the personnel at your site that provided the SID file and
request the latest unexpired SID file for your SAS version and
your operating system.
- Re-send the SID file from our Web site. First, obtain the SAS
installation key from the SAS Order Information page of your SAS
Installation kit. Then, go to the following link:
http://support.sas.com/adminservices-SID
Ensure that you leave the order number field blank to receive the
most current SID file.
- Contact the SAS installation representative at your site and
request the latest SID file for your SAS version and your
operating system. To locate your SAS installation representative
go to:
