Usage Note 6699: Registry builder might "hang" during the installation or when
regbld82.exe is run
The SAS registration process might hang when regbld82.exe is run or
during installation with the message "Configuring SAS Registry".
There can be several causes for this hang:
1. The userID might not have the appropriate authority to update the
SAS registry. The user needs administrator authority and needs to
be logged in as an administrator at the time that the installation
is run.
2. Antivirus software can block the update. Disable antivirus
software before installation.
3. There could be corrupted printer drivers on the machine. Reinstall
SAS or re-run the regbld82.exe file without any printers installed.
To delete the printers, click Start>Settings>Printers, and delete
all printers listed. After the SAS installation or the regbld82.exe
file completes, go to the Printer window again and add the printers.
See SAS Note #006438 .
