Problem Note 4430: PROC PRINT reserves too much space at the bottom of a page of output
The PRINT procedure reserves too much space at the bottom of a page of output on all pages after the first page in each BY group when both a BY statement and an ID statement are specified. The problem becomes amplified when the SPLIT= option is also specified. As more occurrences of the split character are introduced into a LABEL statement, more lines are reserved at the bottom of the page of output.
There is currently no circumvention for this problem.
