Usage Note 33979: IBM Lotus Notes displays a Send button when you use SASĀ® to send an e-mail from Lotus Notes
When you use SAS to send e-mail from Lotus Notes, the e-mail is not immediately sent. In Lotus Notes, a Send button appears. Click the Send button to transmit the e-mail.
This behavior occurs because of a security setting in Lotus Notes that attempts to prevent unwanted e-mail, such as spam e-mail.
To work around this issue, perform one of the following options:
- Contact your Lotus Notes e-mail administrator to see whether the security settings can be changed.
- Use SMTP e-mail to send e-mail because SMTP e-mail communicates directly with the SMTP e-mail server.
Note: In SAS 8, SMTP e-mail allows only text files and ZIP files as attachments. For more information about SMTP e-mail, see SAS Note 19767, "How to send SMTP email with SAS."
For information about using SAS to send e-mail from Microsoft Outlook, see SAS Note 5335, "Microsoft Outlook generates an extra dialog prompt when you send e-mail from the SAS® System."
