Usage Note 9830: "SASHELP portable registry is missing or corrupted" error message
appears when running SAS
When you running SAS, the following messages might appear:
SASHELP portable registry is missing or corrupted.
ERROR: The SAS product with which the global statement is associated
is not found in your sas registry.
These messages indicate that the SASREG job that updates the registry
(regstry.sas7bitm) did not run correctly. Inspect the sassetup.log for
clues to what occurred. The following are possible causes of the
problem:
* The installer of SAS does not have administrator privileges on
that machine where SAS is installed.
* The installer of SAS selected Ctrl+Break during the registration
process at the end of the installation.
* A rogue autoexec.sas file was included that changed the engines
and libnames and caused the SASREG job to fail.
* An anti-virus programs is open and can keep this job from running.
