Usage Note 9631: "Error: The SAS V9 config file not found" message appears when invoking
SAS 9
When you invoke SAS 9, the following error messages might appear when
the SAS Installation Data file does not contain the correct information.
Error: The sas v9 config file not found.
Error: File not found.
When you inspect the sassetup.log file, the following information
appears:
User specified setinit C:\sasinit1.txt instead of SAS Installation
Data
PROCFILES: _PROCFILES_CheckCDSetVersion - CD Set Version not defined
in customer site installation data. Skipping CD Set version check.
The SAS Installation Data file your pointing to doesn't contain the
proper information.
When these error messages appear, any of the following conditions might
exist also:
* The !sasroot directory (c:\program files\sas\sas system\9.0)
displays only the CORE folder.
* The sasv9.cfg references the !sasroot\nls\en folder, but this
folder does not exist.
To circumvent this problem, do the following steps:
1. Put in the SAS Setup CD.
2. When the autorun appears, click on item 2, "Create a SAS Image for
Deployment".
3. Click OK and Next.
4. Click Internet to retrieve the SAS Installation Data and click
Next.
5. On the Security dialog box, select Yes.
6. On the Retrieve SAS Installation Data from the Internet dialog
box, type in your SAS Installation Key and order number that is
found on your Transmittal letter in the SAS Installation Kit.
7. Click save a copy.
Remember: Look at the path that it is saving to and click Browse
to change as necessary.
8. Click Exit after Saving and click Next.
9. On the dialog box that lists the products that your are licensed
for, click Next.
10. On the SAS Installation Data screen, click Next.
11. Click Finish to complete.
12. Uninstall SAS 9, if its located under Add/Remove programs.
13, After the uninstall is complete, reboot.
14. Log in as the Administrator
15. Close all other applications, especially anti-virus programs.
16. Reinstall. Point to the new SAS Installation Data file when you
prompts you for this information.
