When the SAS Installation Data file is being updated, the following
error might appear:
Error: User does not have appropriate authorization level for
file SASHELP.CORE.SASHELP.
To circumvent this issue, perform the following:
For Personal installs
* Open Windows Explorer (Start>Run and type Explorer).
* Navigate to the !sasroot directory (the default location is
C:\Program Files\SAS\SAS System\9.0).
* Drill down to core\sashelp.
* Locate the core.sas7bcat file.
* Right-click on this file.
* From the menu, select Properties.
* Under the General tab, make sure that Archive check box is
the only one checked. If it is not, check the Archive box and
click Apply.
For Admin/Client installs:
* Open Windows Explorer.
* Navigate to the !sasroot directory on the server.
* Drill down to sas\core\sashelp.
* Locate the core.sas7bcat file.
* Right-click on this file.
* From the menu, select Properties.
* Under the General tab, make sure that Archive check box is
the only one checked. If it is not, check the Archive box and
click Apply.
