Problem Note 71122: The Google BigQuery NUMERIC data type is read with a value of zero
Using BULKUNLOAD with SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Google BigQuery might result in some values being read as 0.
This issue occurs when the Google BigQuery data type is NUMERIC, and you installed the hot fixes related to SAS Note 71031, "Performance improvements to SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Google BigQuery."
- SAS® 9.4M7 (TS1M7) and SAS/ACCESS Interface to Google BigQuery 9.42 K3N013
- SAS® 9.4M8 (TS1M8) and SAS/ACCESS Interface to Google BigQuery 9.43 M7Z006
SAS Technical Support recommends using READMODE=STORAGE (where this issue is not seen) as a workaround.
If using READMODE=STORAGE is not an option, the only other workarounds are as follows:
- Do not use BULKUNLOAD.
- Add a LIBNAME or the FETCH_NUMERIC_TYPE=NUMERIC data set option.
