Problem Note 71034: Slow performance or errors might occur when gathering metadata about a BigQuery table

Queries that require metadata about a BigQuery table to be gathered when using the SCANSTRINGCOLUMNS=YES LIBNAME or a data set option might result in a query being passed to the database where the entire table is being queried. This behavior can result in performance issues. It can also cause other errors related to the size of the results as described in SAS Note 71033 and SAS Note 68634.
The only workaround is to use explicit pass-through.
