Problem Note 71007: SAS® Visual Analytics Reports might fail to open and return "System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory..."
When opening SAS Visual Analytics reports in SAS® Add-In for Microsoft Office 8.4 on SAS® Viya® 3.5, the application attempts to download the report. However, the report is not displayed in the SAS panel.
In this scenario, the Excel application log file might contain an error similar to this one:
[VSTA_Main] ERROR SAS.EC.ReportGTL.SasReport [(null)] - Exception creating ReportController.
System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> System.AccessViolationException: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
