Problem Note 70986: The SAS® PC Files Server software fails to install during a SAS® 9.4M8 (TS1M8) installation
During an "All non-planning products" installation, a prompt for automatically starting the SAS PC Files Server (PCFS) service is displayed. If you select the Start Service Now and Automatically when Windows Starts check box, the SAS PC Files Server installation fails, and lines similar to the following occur in the installation log:
This error occurs because the SAS PC Files Server's Windows service was created and started, which means that the files that need to be updated in the hot fix are currently locked by the running service.
The remaining components in the deployment are installed successfully.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
