Problem Note 70950: SAS® Enterprise Guide® stops responding when you open folders under the SASApp directory

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

When you open folders under SASApp, the folders automatically update every few minutes, which causes a "refresh flood." This automatic update/refresh process might cause SAS Enterprise Guide to stop responding.

Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.

Post-Hot-Fix Instructions

The hot fix contains the MonitorRemoteFileChanges configuration option, which you can use in the seguide.exe.config file. The MonitorRemoteFileChanges configuration option defaults to the true value if it is not listed in the seguide.exe.config file. If you do not want the remote server file to be checked for changes, add the MonitorRemoteFileChanges option to the seguide.exe.config file with the false value:

<appSettings>
  <add key="MonitorRemoteFileChanges" value="false" />
</appSettings>

* If the value of the MonitorRemoteFileChanges option is set to true, then the remote server file is checked for changes.

* When the option is set to false, the files from the server file system are not monitored for updates, and the refresh flood should not occur.
