Problem Note 70927: The SASĀ® Environment Manager Agent will not monitor network resources if the "netstat" command is unavailable
Starting with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) version 7, the net-tools package is no longer installed by default on a basic server deployment and has been deprecated. SAS Environment Manager requires the netstat command from this package to monitor network resources.
If netstat is not present on the system, the SAS Environment Manager Agent log contains the following message upon startup:
java.io.IOException: Cannot run program "netstat": error=2, No such file or directory
Workaround
To work around this issue, do either of the following:
- Manually install the net-tools package on the RHEL system
- Apply the hot fix to allow SAS Environment Manager to use the ss (socket statistics) command, which is the replacement for netstat.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
