Problem Note 70887: The MIXED procedure might produce incorrect results when you specify certain model combinations

PROC MIXED might produce incorrect results when the following conditions are met:

  • You specify the DDFM=KR, DDFM=KR2, or DDFM=SAT option in the MODEL statement.
  • You specify the TYPE=FA(q), TYPE=FA0(q), or TYPE=FA1(q) option in the RANDOM statement when t=1 regardless of the q value (where t is the dimension of the G matrix).
  • At least one of the following conditions is also met:
    • You specify the OUTP= option in the MODEL statement.
    • You specify the SOLUTION option in the RANDOM statement.
    • You specify a CONTRAST or ESTIMATE statement involving random effects.
