By design, when you update a page that involves workflow, a REST call is issued to update the field values.

If you click Save within 0.2 seconds of making the first edit on a page, then the page has yet to fully propagate its dirty flag, and the page will not perform a save REST call. The page thinks that it is not altered yet at the time of the save.

As a result, field changes might not be saved even though you made edits and clicked the Save button.
