SAS Event Stream Processing Studio does not download a project in the expected format. When you use download project on the Projects page, the project is downloaded as part of a JSON object instead of downloading just the formatted XML code of the project.  

As a workaround, use the XML editor to select all of the XML code for the project, and then copy it to a local file.
