Problem Note 70732: The Default Text Encoding option in SAS® Studio might not save files with the encoding that you set in your Preferences

If you set your Default Text Encoding to something other than UTF-8 in SAS Studio ► Preferences, programs are saved with UTF-8 encoding anyway. Consequentially, you might encounter issues when reopening saved programs.
For example, you might encounter this issue when completing steps similar to the following:
- In SAS Studio ► Preferences ► General, set in the Default Text Encoding option to windows-1252.
- Open a new program and enter some characters that belong to this encoding (windows-1252).
- Save the program and close it.
- Reopen the saved program.
