Problem Note 70636: Scheduling a flow to Process Manager results in the loss of AND/OR gates and missing dependencies in the scheduled flow

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

When you schedule a flow to IBM's Platform Process Manager using the SAS® Management Console Schedule Manager plug-in, the scheduled flow might be incorrect.

This issue occurs when the flow in SAS Management Console contains multiple AND/OR gates that are redundant.

The resulting scheduled flow contains all the correct jobs and/or sub-flows, but some AND/OR gates are missing, as are some dependencies.

For example, the following is a flow in SAS Management Console:

When you schedule this flow, you would expect to see the following in the Flow Manager:

Expected Flow Manager Flow diagram

However, one of the AND gates is gone. As a result, Job 5 will run as soon as Jobs 1 and 2 are complete, no matter the state of Jobs 3 and 4, as shown in the following image:

Actual Flow Manager Flow diagram

The only workaround is to remove the redundant AND/OR gates and set the dependencies that were lost. Here is an example:

A fix for this issue is being considered for a future software release.
