Problem Note 70516: The BGLIMM procedure might issue a segmentation violation error when the VALIDVARNAME=UPCASE system option is specified
PROC BGLIMM stops processing when both of the following are true:
- A model includes an intercept or a scale parameter.
- You specify the system option VALIDVARNAME=UPCASE.
As a result, the following error occurs:
ERROR: An exception has been encountered.

You can circumvent the problem by specifying VALIDVARNAME=ANY.
