Reference Data (a data type) is a feature in SAS^® Visual Investigator. You define reference values by matching the incoming data values. Here is an example: 

Reference Item        Reference Value

R                                   RED

The incoming value R matches to reference item R and contains a reference value of RED. The incoming value should be displayed on the screen. However, if the incoming value does not contain a matching reference item, the value on the screen is blank. 

This issue seems to have started with Hot Fix 4.

Some type of race condition could be causing the problem. You might be able to work around the issue by switching from the Edit mode to the View mode.
