Usage Note 7034: Tomcat's Jakarta version 3.2.1 or Tomcat's Catalina version 4.0 requires
environment variables to be set.
To use Sun System's Java Servlet, Tomcat, a HOME environment variable
has to be defined. If using a proxy server, an OPTS environment
variable must also be defined.
The environment variables can be set in the system environment or in the
tomcat.bat file located under the bin directory where the Tomcat
software is installed.
You will need to set the TOMCAT_HOME environment variable to the
directory where Tomcat is installed.
If you are using a proxy server, you will need to set either the
TOMCAT_OPTS environment variable to contain:
-Dhttp.proxyHost=proxyHost -Dhttp.proxyPort=portNumber
or the CATALINA_OPTS environment variable to contain:
-Dhttp.proxyHost=proxyHost -Dhttp.proxyPort=portNumber
