Problem Note 69785: A segmentation violation occurs when using SAS/ACCESS® Interface to OLE DB with 32-bit SAS® software and UTF-8 encoding
When you use 32-bit SAS® software with UTF-8 encoding and connect to a database with SAS/ACCESS Interface to OLE DB, a segmentation violation can occur when accessing the data. You encounter this issue when using the DATASETS procedure, or reading a database table with a DATA step or the SQL procedure.
The error looks similar to the following:
