Problem Note 69705: Characters other than a period (.) are displayed instead of missing values in the data grid
When you open a table into the data grid, characters other than a period might be displayed rather than missing values. The following factors need to occur to encounter this behavior:
- Version 9.44 OLEDB providers must have been installed on the client previously. The currently installed OLEDB provider can be version 9.45 or later.
- The SAS® table that you open must have been originally created on a UNIX system.
- You open the data directly into SAS® Enterprise Guide®, which forces the local data provider to open this table. This behavior occurs if you right-click the table in Windows Explorer and select Open with SAS Enterprise Guide 8.3.
