The Search and Discovery (SAND) service in SAS Visual Investigator uses the wrong Elasticsearch alias when deleting relationships, which causes indexing to fail.
Relationships without dedicated indices are stored in the Elasticsearch document_link index. As a result, requests to delete relationships should target only the document_link index. However, the alias used by the sand-search service targets the indices for all relationships, which includes dedicated indices.
This problem causes indexing to fail under the following circumstances:
• the indexing is multi-threaded
• one of the dedicated indices is deleted and re-created while the delete-by-query request is in progress
