Problem Note 69141: You cannot perform a filtered expansion when you are over the expansion limit in SASĀ® Visual Investigator
By design, you can configure a limit regarding how many nodes are expanded in the network diagram. This is done for performance and usage purposes. When you reach the limit (the default is 2,000), you receive a dialog box noting that you are over the limit and the expansion does not happen.
One way to avoid the limit is to expand by node type, which is referred to as a filtered expansion. A filtered expansion incorrectly fails because the total count of all nodes is checked first, without regard to your filter by node type. As a result, you always receive a warning dialog box noting that you are above the expansion limit.
