Problem Note 68979: Using the ANYDTDTMw. informat with missing datetime values returns an INVALID DATA message after you have applied Hot Fix I9R046
Hot Fix I9R046 resolves the issue of the SAS® log not indicating a problem with any INVALID DATA messages, as described in SAS Note 68071, "The ANYDTDTMw. informat does not read a datetime value with trailing characters correctly in the SAS® 9.4M4 (TS1M4) release and in later releases." However, after you have applied Hot Fix I9R046, a missing datetime value returns an INVALID DATA message to the SAS log when using the ANYDTDTM. informat.
Here is an example of the SAS code and the SAS log:
data projectdata;
infile 'c:\projectdata.csv' delimiter = ',' TRUNCOVER DSD firstobs=2 ;
input projectid project $ PEDAT : anydtdtm40. CPEDAT : date9.;
format pedat datetime25. cpedat mmddyy10. ;
run;
NOTE: Invalid data for PEDAT in line 3 10-10.
RULE: ---++--1------2----3------4----5------6--+--7------8------
3 1,XX0011,, 10
projectid=1 project=XX0011 PEDAT=. CPEDAT=. ERROR=1 N=2
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
After you apply the hot fix in this note, the SAS log no longer returns INVALID DATA messages when using the ANYDTDTM. informat and reading a datetime value that is missing.
The hot fix applies to all three of the ANYDT* family of informats:
- ANYDTDTE
- ANYDTTME
- ANYDTDTM
