Problem Note 68834: Adding "Objects with data" into the canvas might corrupt reports in SAS® Visual Analytics

In SAS Visual Analytics, you might encounter the following error when saving your report:

An error was encountered saving the report.

An error was encountered saving the report

This error mainly occurs when you add Object Templates that Include Data items in your report. For example, you encounter the issue when completing steps similar to the following:

  1. Create a report in SAS Visual Analytics that contains report objects with assigned data.
  2. Select one report object and chose Save to Objects Pane.
  3. Click the option Include Data Items as shown in the following image:

The Object Template is now available in Objects pane ► Objects with data, and you can add it in other reports.

  1. Create a new report or open an existing one and drag it into the canvas of the Object Template that you saved from the Objects pane ► Objects with data.
  2. Save the report. The error An error was encountered saving the report might appear, and you might be unable to save your report.
  3. In addition, if you open the SAS Visual Analytics Diagnostics to check your report BIRD, then the following error might appear:
An error occurred. The result could not be converted. HttpStatusCode 400

To work around this problem, select Remove Data items instead of Include Data items when saving report objects to the Objects pane.
