Problem Note 68682: A "...Function not supported..." error occurs with PROC FEDSQL when it is selecting a CLOB column

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

When you submit a FEDSQL procedure, you might see the following error message:

ERROR: ERROR: [IBM][CLI Driver][DB2/LINUXZ64] SQL0270N  Function not supported (Reason code = "63"). SQLSTATE=42997

This error happens when you use a CONNECTION TO component in a SELECT statement, and one of the columns that is returned is of a character large object (CLOB) type. The following syntax provides an example:

proc fedsql sessref=mySession _method;
create table casuser.Table1 as
select * from connection to Conn1
(
select A.COL1, B.COL2
from TABLE1 A, TABLE2 B
where A.ID = B.ID
);
