In SAS Visual Analytics, the following error might appear when you navigate your reports:

This problem especially occurs if your report objects are based on aggregated data sources that contain calculated items that are based on parameters.

For example, you might encounter this issue if you perform steps similar to the following:

1. Create a new report and add a data source. This example uses the CARS data source.
2. Add a drop-down list as a report control and select a data item as the Category Role. This example uses the Origin data item.
3. Add a new category parameter (Parameter1) and add it as Parameter Role for the drop-down list:

4. Create a new calculated item that is based on the parameter.
5. Select the CARS data source in the Data panel and select the NEW DATA FROM AGGREGATION option.
6. Select some data items and include the calculated item as well.

7. Now, this report contains a new data source called CARS_AGGREGATED. Select CARS_AGGREGATED in the Data panel and use it to add roles to the list table. Select Origin, Horsepower, Invoice, and the Calculated Item:

8. Save the report.
9. In the drop-down list, select Asia as the value and note that the table below is correctly updated:

10. However, if you select another value from the drop-down list control, such as Europe, an error occurs:

As a workaround, you can do the following:

• Edit the aggregated data source from Data ► Edit aggregated data and perform any actions. For example, move a data item up or down or add any additional data items. Then, save the aggregated data source. After this action, the problem does not occur anymore.
• Alternately, to avoid this problem, add the calculated data item in the aggregated data source as the last one.
