Problem Note 68476: The message "We found a problem with some content in filename.xlsx" might appear when you open a SAS generated XLSX file in Microsoft Excel
The following error occurs when you open a SAS generated XLSX file in Excel:
This issue happens when you create the XLSX file using a FILEREF statement with a different ENCODING= option value from the SAS session encoding value. Here's an example:
/* SAS Session encoding is different from wlatin1, i.e. UTF-8 or CYRILLIC */
data x;
y=1;
run;
filename H "c:\temp\WontOpen.xlsx" encoding="wlatin1";
proc export
data=x
dbms=xlsx
outfile=H
replace;
run;
You must remove the ENCODING= option from the FILENAME statement to solve the problem.
