If the Background Queries property is set to 1 or higher in SAS Visual Analytics, any report that depends on parameters being set on background pages might not be not set correctly when the underlying data changes.

For example, you might encounter this issue if you complete steps similar to the following:

1. Create a report that contains the following:

• On Page 2, a required button bar sets a parameter.
• The parameter is displayed in a text box on Page 2.

2. Change the underlying data in such a way that the saved value for that button bar is no longer valid. As a result, the parameter is set to  "No value selected" instead of the new selected value from the required button bar.

To work around this issue, you can set Background Queries to 0:

1. Log in to SAS^® Environment Manager as an administrator.
2. Navigate to Configuration ► All Services ► SAS Visual Analytics.
3. Edit the sas.visualanalytics section of properties.
4. Change Background Queries to 0:
   
5. Click OK to save your changes.
6. Wait 30 seconds for the changes to take effect.
