Problem Note 68045: The Output Delivery System RTF destination might fail with insufficient memory on repeated executions
Generating output with the Output Delivery System (ODS) RTF destination might fail with an insufficient memory error with repeated executions. The error can be seen when the ODS RTF destination is submitted within a macro. The number of successful executions before the failure can vary from fewer than 10 to more than 50, and that number differs on each machine that the code runs on.
Here are the errors that are reported in the SAS® log:
ERROR: Fatal ODS error has occurred. Unable to continue processing this output destination.
ERROR: The SAS System stopped processing this step because of insufficient memory.
The error that reports insufficient memory does not accurately report memory usage for the SAS session, and memory is not exhausted.
