Problem Note 68028: SAS® Add-In for Microsoft Office might delay closing Microsoft Excel

SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office might delay the time needed to close Microsoft Excel by as much as 45 seconds. This issue might occur when you access tables from metadata-defined libraries that are not pre-assigned using SAS Add-In or Microsoft Office. 

To avoid the delay, pre-assign metadata libraries.
