Problem Note 68591: The error "Unicode converter buffer overflow" occurs when you use a DSN-less LIBNAME statement that contains the DriverUnicodeType=1 option
When you use a DSN-less ODBC LIBNAME statement and the Data Direct ODBC driver manager is involved, the following error might occur when querying a database table:
ERROR: CLI error trying to establish connection: [DataDirect][ODBC lib] Unicode converter buffer overflow
Here is an example of a DNS-less LIBNAME statement:
libname x odbc noprompt="Driver=xxxx;Server=yyyyy;Database=zzzz;DriverUnicodeType=1";
Even though the DriverUnicodeType=1 option is in the DSN-less connection, it is not recognized by the ODBC driver.
After you apply this hot fix, the updated driver allows your query to complete successfully.
