Problem Note 68382: SAS® Enterprise Guide® 8.3 with Hot Fix 3 fails to connect to workspace servers executing on z/OS operating systems
SAS Enterprise Guide 8.3 with Hot Fix 3 fails to connect to workspace servers executing on z/OS operating systems. The following error then appears:
A connection to a server is required for this function or operation
The current workaround is to revert to Hot Fix 2 or an earlier hot-fix level.
If SAS Enterprise Guide was updated with the Check for Updates method, use the steps below to remove the latest hot fix and revert your installation to the last hot fix that was installed. Note: This action requires administrative rights.
- Launch the Control Panel app in Microsoft Windows.
- Click Uninstall a program.
- Click View installed updates.
- Scroll down to SAS Enterprise Guide 8.3.3 Software Patch.
- Right-click that update and select Uninstall.
- SAS Enterprise Guide 8.3 then uses the last installed hot fix before Hot Fix 3 was installed.
