Problem Note 68262: Poor indexing performance occurs with non-VARCHAR primary key types in Microsoft SQL Server tables
The indexer service in SAS® Visual Investigator does not allow partitioning by numeric keys and uses strings instead. Using numeric keys causes queries to run for a long time, because the numeric keys must be converted to the VARCHAR data type.
A workaround is to copy the numeric column, convert it to the VARCHAR data type, and then use it as a primary key.
