Usage Note 68035: An older Microsoft SQL Server ODBC driver is called when you use the CONNECT TO SQLSERVR statement

You encounter issues when using code similar to the following:
proc sql;
connect to sqlservr(server=xxxxxxx database=yyyyyyy);
connect to sqlservr(server=xxxxxxx database=yyyyyyy);
This engine was created for SAS® 6 to use the Microsoft SQL Server ODBC driver, version 10.00. Newer features from more recent Microsoft ODBC SQL Server drivers are not available with this code. There are also reports of slow performance when querying an SQL Server table with this syntax.
As a workaround, use SAS/ACCESS® Interface to ODBC. Here is sample code:
libname x odbc user=xxxxx password=yyyyyyy database=zzzzzzz;
or
proc sql;
connect to odbc(user=xxxxx password=yyyyyy dsn=zzzzz);
quit;
connect to odbc(user=xxxxx password=yyyyyy dsn=zzzzz);
quit;
