Problem Note 67998: Changes applied in SAS® Visual Analytics Edit mode might not be honored for Viewer users
When Designer users apply any changes to SAS Visual Analytics reports and save them in Edit mode while Viewer users are navigating the same report, some changes might not be correctly applied.
For example, this issue occurs when you complete steps similar to the following:
- UserA creates a new report that contains a drop-down list as a page control and a list table, and then saves the report.
- UserB is a Viewer user who opens the report and navigates it. This user chooses different names from the drop-down list to check data into the list table.
- At the same time that UserB is performing actions in the report in View mode, UserA performs the following change to the report in Edit mode: Renames Page1 to Page_one and saves the report.
- When UserB reopens the report, they still see Page1 instead of Page_one. The same behavior still occurs even if the user signs out.
This behavior might occur when the Report State rule is enabled for users.
If you want to change this behavior for Viewer users, complete these steps:
- Select the Restore default report state option in View mode.
- Disable the ability to save the report state for Viewer users. To disable or enable this feature, see SAS Note 64113, "Disabling the ability to save the state of a SAS® Visual Analytics report displayed in SAS® Report Viewer or in view mode." Note that disabling the ability to save the report state prevents the issue from happening. However, this action does not resolve the problem if it already exists in a specific report.
