Problem Note 67833: An empty data set is created after writing a hash object to a SAS® metadata-bound library that is defined with encryption

DetailsHotfixAboutRate It

An empty SAS data set is created when writing the contents of a hash object using the output method when the following conditions are true:

  • The data set resides in a SAS metadata-bound library.
  • The metadata-bound library is defined to use encryption.

When this problem occurs, no errors or warning are written to the SAS log. However, a note in the log indicates that zero observations were written, as shown in this example:

NOTE: The data set data-set-name has 0 observations and 0 variables.
