Problem Note 67712: You cannot connect to a database in SAS® Micro Analytic Service and an error occurs in the sas-microanalyticservice-core log file

In SAS® Environment Manager, you can set up various properties in the sas.microanalyticservice.system:core component for the SAS Micro Analytic Score service. Two of the properties, dbconnretries and dbconnretryintervalseconds​​, are not honored when they are set. As a result, SAS Micro Analytic Service does not attempt to re-create a connection to the database by using the query that is provided in the connectioncheckstatement property in either of the following situations:

  • the database connection was killed
  • the database server's service was restarted
  • the database server's machine was rebooted

In the sas-microanalyticservice-core log file (located in the /opt/sas/viya/config/var/log/microanalyticservice/default directory) you might see the following error for this issue.

DEBUG App.tk.MAS - Connection Retry mode not active.
DEBUG App.tk.MAS - connCheckStmt set to ''

To work around this issue, restart SAS Micro Analytic Service.
