When SAS/ACCESS Interface to Google BigQuery creates a Google BigQuery table from a SAS table, the default data type is changed.
If the SAS column has a DATETIME or DATEAMPM format, then the engine or data connector will change from creating a TIMESTAMP column to a DATETIME column.
If you require the original behavior of creating a TIMESTAMP column, you must use EXPLICIT SQL code to create and insert data to the Google BigQuery table.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
The hot fix introduces this new behavior beginning with SAS/ACCESS® Interface to Google BigQuery 9.41.
After applying the hot fix, if your Google BigQuery tables still use TIMESTAMP data types, see SAS Note 67943 regarding an issue that you might encounter.
