Problem Note 67384: SAS® Life Science Analytics Framework 5.2.2 - Documenting differences between Reset and Refresh user actions while browsing data in the UI
When you are browsing the contents of SAS data sets and tables via the SAS Life Science Analytics Framework Data Viewer, the Reset and Refresh actions are not performing as intended prior to the 5.2.2 release.
Note: A related issue is already documented in SAS Note 66549, “SAS® Life Science Analytics Framework 5.2 - Clicking the reset icon clears the filter but does not refresh the data.” A fix for the issue is incorporated as part of SAS® Life Science Analytics Framework 5.2.2.
The purpose of this SAS Note is to define more clearly the behaviors and key differences between the Reset and Refresh actions, beginning with SAS Life Science Analytics Framework 5.2.2.
- A Reset action request behaves as if the current data set were closed and re-opened.
- Current filters and sort criteria are removed, all columns are made visible, and the row or observation positions are set according to the current order of the stored data set.
- If new columns or variables are added to the data set during the active session, they appear following the Reset action request.
- A Refresh action request retrieves the data set content but does not rebuild the displayed data set. That is, the action refreshes only the contents of the current columns or view.
- A Refresh action retains active filters, sort criteria, hidden columns, and column positions and sizing within the current view.
- A Refresh action does not pick up any changes to variables, variable length, or data type.
