Problem Note 67324: SAS® Studio 5.2 (Basic) generates the message "The application could not log on to the server 'localhost:8591'..."
When optional network settings are configured in SAS® Viya® 3.5, the SAS spawner should bind to the value that is set for SAS_BIND_ADDR.
However, SAS Studio 5.2 (Basic) still looks for a spawner at the default of localhost:8591.
As a result, when you sign in to SAS Studio 5.2 (Basic), you see this message:
The application could not log on to the server "localhost:8591". No server is available at that port on that machine.
The workaround is to create or edit the init_usermods.properties file and set the webdms.workspaceServer.hostName property to the SAS_BIND_ADDR value. Then restart SAS Studio (Basic).
