The custom sort might not be honored when you expand a hierarchy in SAS Visual Analytics Report Viewer.

For example, you encounter this issue when you perform steps similar to the following:

1. Create a new report that contains a cross table with a hierarchy (Year – Month) for the Columns category in the Data Roles section:

2. Add a Custom Sort for the Month data item to display months in the correct order (Jan, Feb, Mar, and so on):

3. In the Month column of the cross table, select Sort ► Month: Descending. Then, when you expand Month, the order is: Apr, Mar, Feb, Jan, as shown here:

4. Save the report. In this specific scenario, when you display the report in SAS Visual Analytics Report Viewer, the custom sort is correctly honored as displayed in the following image:

5. However, if you click the All Year-Month breadcrumb to collapse the hierarchy and expand year 2008, then the problem occurs. Months are not sorted correctly anymore and the custom sort is not honored, as shown here:
