A custom sort might not be honored in SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office when you expand hierarchies in SAS Visual Analytics cross tables.
For example, you encounter this issue when you complete steps similar to the following:
- Create a SAS Visual Analytics report with a cross table that contains a hierarchy on Columns. The hierarchy contains Year and Month data items:
- Create a custom sort for the Month data item to sort months in the correct order:
- Expand YEAR 2020 in SAS Visual Analytics. The custom sort is correctly honored (Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May).
- Expand YEAR 2020 in the same report through SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office by selecting the Expand option. The custom sort is not honored:
As a workaround, you can expand the hierarchy in SAS Add-In for Microsoft Office by using the Drill down option instead:
