The CAS server fails to start and returns an error similar to the following:
Error processing item store: CASITM-file-name
Note that the CASITM file that is mentioned in the error message is usually stored in this folder: /opt/sas/viya/config/etc/cas/default/permstore/tuxgrid14.na.sas.com
Solution
The above error means that there is a problem with the referenced file.
To start the server, remove the referenced CASITM file and restart CAS.
If you have a backup of that file, you can restore it from the backup.
CASITM file corruption often occurs when CAS is not shut down properly.
