Problem Note 67365: You see the message "Compile error: Can't find project or library" when you open SAS® Financial Management 5.6 forms in Microsoft Excel
When you try to open a SAS Financial Management data-entry form in Excel, you might receive the following erro:
Compile error: Can't find project or library
This message appears after you upgrade to SAS Financial Management 5.6 from a previous version.
If you encounter this problem, follow these steps as a workaround.
- Open the data-entry form template.
- Open the Visual Basic (VBA) code.
- On the menu bar, select Tools ► References.
- Deselect all of the SAS Financial Management references that contain the word "MISSING."
- Select the SAS Financial Management Add-In reference that points to the SASSESExcelAddin.tlb file. You must hover over the lower part of the screen to see the full path, as shown in this image:

- Save the form template.
- Re-publish the form template.
