Problem Note 67188: A "Compare Tables: java.lang.NullPointerException" error occurs when deploying a job that contains a Compare transformation using a hash lookup method
When you deploy a SAS® Data Integration Studio job that contains a Compare transformation, you might receive the following error:
The job '_job-name_' was not deployed because of the following reason: Compare Tables: java.lang.NullPointerException
The error occurs when the Compare transformation uses a direct in-memory lookup (hash object) method for comparison of the tables and does not use the output port for Unmatched: Missing Records, as shown here:
To work around this issue, complete one of the following steps:
- Add the output port for Unmatched: Missing Records to the Compare transformation.
- Reset the direct lookup (hash object) property to No in the options for the Compare transformation. This selection means that the application will use a sequential disk-based lookup (DATA step merge) method to compare the tables.
