Problem Note 67115: SAS® Visual Data Builder attempts to create scheduled jobs in the wrong deployment directory
One of the Scheduling settings for SAS Visual Data Builder is a Default deployment directory. In most environments, this value is set to Batch Jobs.
However, SAS Visual Data Builder might ignore the specified Default deployment directory and instead use the first deployment directory listed in the Deployment Directories dialog box in SAS® Management Console. If the first directory in the Deployment Directories dialog box is the same one that you have specified in SAS Visual Data Builder, then scheduling appears to work as expected. However, if the specified directory is not the first one listed in the dialog box, then you encounter one of the following problems:
- If the user creating the schedule does not have permission to save content to the first directory listed in the dialog box, then the schedule is not saved. The SAS Visual Data Builder log contains the error Insufficient authorization to access [directory-path].
- If the user does have permission to save content to that location, then the job is saved but it is not in the expected location.
If a scheduled job is created, the workaround is to use SAS Management Console to redeploy the deployed job to the correct deployment directory.
Click the Hot Fix tab in this note to access the hot fix for this issue.
Note: After you apply the hot fix to release 7.51, your schedule is ignored if you do not have permission to write to the selected deployment directory. There is no message in SAS Visual Analytics to indicate that the task succeeded or failed. However, if the browser tools are active, you see the message Insufficient authorization to access [directory-path].
