Problem Note 66876: SAS® Viya® 3.5 deployments fail with the error "fatal: [deployTarget]: FAILED!...Java vendor 'Red Hat, Inc.' is not supported..."

SAS Viya 3.5 deployments fail with the following error message when you run the SAS Viya playbook to deploy software due to a Java vendor name change:

Typically, this issue happens after you update the Java version for the operating system.
Background:
When the most recent Java Runtime Environment (JRE) update was released, the java.vendor setting was changed to Red Hat, Inc. This small change unfortunately breaks the validation script that is included within the playbook and prevents services from being deployed.
To determine whether you are encountering this issue, look for these keywords in the logs:
You can run the following command to check whether the Java Vendor name is now Red Hat: sudo yum info java-1.8.0-openjdk.x86_64
To work around this issue, replace the sas_viya_playbook/scripts/validate_java.sh file with the file on the Downloads tab. Then, run your SAS Viya playbook.
